ABOUT US
Nippon Karate Association is one of the leading Shotokan Karate academies in Sri Lanka.
The association has around 500 students who train regularly at one of our Dojo’s in the Western Province region. We have clubs in Kottawa, Habarakada, Pitipana, Batapotha, Hanwella, Athurugiriya, Korathota and Nawagamuwa. Our students are of all ages from 6 years and upwards, men and women, boys and girls. We offer no barrier to race or creed, ability or disability.
We are an association of Karate clubs that follow the traditional forms of Karate, as originated by Master Gichin Funakoshi (1868 – 1957) and Master Masatoshi Nakayama (1913 – 1987)
We are one of the few elite Karate organizations in the country with a fully accredited, licensed, and professional Chief Instructor. This ensures that our students receive training that meets the highest standards of excellence, giving them the confidence that they are learning authentic and recognized karate techniques.
